When the right people come together beautiful things can happen!
I want to say a huge thank you to the team that came together back in March to create such a beautifully, rustic and romantic styled shoot. I was so excited to be asked to join the team of suppliers as this was my first styled shoot after taking over the boutique.
Mapperley Farm is such a beautiful venue, renowned for their Tipi Weddings, the grounds are just stunning. Katherine, from Honey and Horseshoe Events co-ordinated the shoot showcasing her love of rustic and rural outdoor styling.
It turned out to be everything that I had hoped for in a styled shoot. The touch of tweed jackets and riding boots really gave it individuality, standing out from the crowd with an equestrian twist.
The styled shoot was featured in Horse and Rider Magazine in July.

Sunday morning we were up very early to catch the train to London to visit London Bridal Fashion Week. As always I was very organised (that would be the Capricorn in me), with two appointments booked for the Sunday and a plan to have a good look around the rest of the show on the Monday.
Excited doesn’t even come close to how I was feeling, I was 99% sure about a new designer I was going to sign up for (more about that later) and I just couldn’t wait to see the Eddy K 2020 collections.
After our first appointment we made our way over to the Eddy K stand. And to my surprise and delight Eddy himself had travelled from Milan to attend the show!!! I couldn’t believe it!! He took the time to sit and chat to us, asking about the boutique and my journey into the bridal. He is genuinely the kindest, most interesting person I’ve met. He gave me a lot of sound advice and even invited us out for dinner that evening.
I cant even begin to tell you how gorgeous the 2020 collection is!! I thought the 2019 collection couldn’t be beaten as that itself was stunning, but he’s managed to make the new collection even more beautiful than I’d imagined. We literally spent hours looking through the collection, the models were so patient and gorgeous of course…we then began a shortlist of dresses. At the end of the day we all nipped off to the VIP lounge for some cheeky prosecco before going off for dinner. What an amazing experience!!! The Eddy K team really know how to have a good time, I’ve never laughed so much in ages.
Monday we revisited the stand and began our firm list and an extra wish list just because it was so hard to choose. After finally prising ourselves away from the Eddy K collections we set off back to the hotel for a celebratory dinner that we had added a new designer to Shade Bridal Boutique and chosen some truly stunning gowns for our brides. I cant wait for you all to see them.
So if you are asking yourself “who is Eddy K” you really are missing out ladies! Pop over to their website here, they have videos of all the gowns (which I love to watch), I cant promise you wont lose an hour or two swooning over the beautiful silhouettes, lace appliques, delicate beading, sumptuous fabrics and elegant styling. You’re welcome xx
It's always such an honour to be asked to take part in photo shoots. This one was for photographer Magda Kuzmik and we were part of a team that created the boho botanical look she wanted. The venue was Kedleston House Hotel in Derbyshire. The dresses we chose were the dreamy Azriel from Watters and the romantic Yvonne from The French Collection. Hair was beautifully styled by Amie at Mon Amie Wedding Hair
Make up expertly done as always by Adele Coxon
The gorgeous flowers and flower crown were by Sarah at Mrs Umbels
And featured now on Rock My Wedding!
The Azriel dress from Watters has a soft and dreamy look. It is worn here in the mocha and ivory colourway. Azriel comes all ivory too.
