Having only joined Amy half way through her Bridal journey, I missed the fun part of trying on dresses with her and the more importantly “yes, this is the one” moment. However there were plenty more opportunities to really get to know Amy and her wedding plans as we went through her fitting appointments.
Amy chose to wear a gorgeous Linea Raffaelli gown made from a soft georgette as she married Ben at The Folly (The Farm House at Mackworth). We then designed a custom fluted over skirt with Amy so she could have a different look for the evening reception. Her dress was worn with a Windsor Bridal Jewellery belt and a veil passed down from her mother in law, such a beautiful touch.
Thank you for keeping us both on our toes throughout your journey Amy ;) we hope you will look back on it with fond memories.
Wishing you and Ben the world of love and happiness in your future.

When the right people come together beautiful things can happen!
I want to say a huge thank you to the team that came together back in March to create such a beautifully, rustic and romantic styled shoot. I was so excited to be asked to join the team of suppliers as this was my first styled shoot after taking over the boutique.
Mapperley Farm is such a beautiful venue, renowned for their Tipi Weddings, the grounds are just stunning. Katherine, from Honey and Horseshoe Events co-ordinated the shoot showcasing her love of rustic and rural outdoor styling.
It turned out to be everything that I had hoped for in a styled shoot. The touch of tweed jackets and riding boots really gave it individuality, standing out from the crowd with an equestrian twist.
The styled shoot was featured in Horse and Rider Magazine in July.

I’m so excited that finally the time has come for me to welcome the award winning Motee Maids bridesmaids collection into the boutique. Its been a long time and I’ve been chomping at the bit for them to arrive. To celebrate we are holding a launch event Thursday 4th July 6:00-8:30pm.
The collection will be getting its first official preview, so if you’re still looking for bridesmaids dresses to complete your bridal styling pop down to the boutique to see them in person - no appointment required to view. You wont be disappointed they really are gorgeous.
Carol from Love2Sparkle will be here with her beautiful bespoke collection of hair accessories to talk about coordinating hair pieces for your bridesmaids. We will also have a gorgeous cake display from April Delights….and some yummy cake samples too.
I of course will be doing my usually offering of pink fizz and bridal chat for all the brides and their bridesmaids who will be joining us for this very special event.
Looking forward to seeing you there…..
Sophie chose to wear Liza from Wendy Makin’s Ready to Wear Collection for their December wedding. She looked absolutely stunning as she married her soulmate Bruce under the watchful eye of their fur baby Sky. A sleek, classic Mikado gown with a bardot neckline, customised to add pearl buttons to the end of the train. The perfect dress for a perfect bride.
Having the pleasure of knowing Sophie before she became a Shade Bridal bride made the whole process even more special.
There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a brides face light up when they have found ‘the one’, I’m not going to lie there was a lump in my throat when she chose the Liza gown.
Styling for their wedding was simple and elegant, a bouquet of gypsophila and eucalyptus with just a hint of colour, a matching hair band and Bruce in a very dapper navy three piece suit.
Congratulations to you both, I wish you the world of happiness….

Sunday morning we were up very early to catch the train to London to visit London Bridal Fashion Week. As always I was very organised (that would be the Capricorn in me), with two appointments booked for the Sunday and a plan to have a good look around the rest of the show on the Monday.
Excited doesn’t even come close to how I was feeling, I was 99% sure about a new designer I was going to sign up for (more about that later) and I just couldn’t wait to see the Eddy K 2020 collections.
After our first appointment we made our way over to the Eddy K stand. And to my surprise and delight Eddy himself had travelled from Milan to attend the show!!! I couldn’t believe it!! He took the time to sit and chat to us, asking about the boutique and my journey into the bridal. He is genuinely the kindest, most interesting person I’ve met. He gave me a lot of sound advice and even invited us out for dinner that evening.
I cant even begin to tell you how gorgeous the 2020 collection is!! I thought the 2019 collection couldn’t be beaten as that itself was stunning, but he’s managed to make the new collection even more beautiful than I’d imagined. We literally spent hours looking through the collection, the models were so patient and gorgeous of course…we then began a shortlist of dresses. At the end of the day we all nipped off to the VIP lounge for some cheeky prosecco before going off for dinner. What an amazing experience!!! The Eddy K team really know how to have a good time, I’ve never laughed so much in ages.
Monday we revisited the stand and began our firm list and an extra wish list just because it was so hard to choose. After finally prising ourselves away from the Eddy K collections we set off back to the hotel for a celebratory dinner that we had added a new designer to Shade Bridal Boutique and chosen some truly stunning gowns for our brides. I cant wait for you all to see them.
So if you are asking yourself “who is Eddy K” you really are missing out ladies! Pop over to their website here, they have videos of all the gowns (which I love to watch), I cant promise you wont lose an hour or two swooning over the beautiful silhouettes, lace appliques, delicate beading, sumptuous fabrics and elegant styling. You’re welcome xx

A summer wedding at The Carriage Hall in Plumtree for our lovely bride Antoinette and Alex (who looked very smart in his kilt!) was everything it should be.
It was a beautifully sunny summer's day. Antoinette wore the Irene gown from Wendy Makin, a classically stylish wedding dress, that is relaxed and easy to wear.
Hannah and Chris got married at Brecon Cathedral on the 7th April and had a wonderful day. A very special part of their wedding was that Chris' dad conducted the service.
Hannah found her dress on our sale rail! It suited her perfectly and with the addition of a veil from Richard Designs and a sparkly belt from Windsor Bridal Jewellery, the look was complete. The dress was Joceline from the French Collection.
Our Spring Sale 2018 was a hit. It finished on May 12th....sorry!
We have added new dresses to our sale rail, many not shown on our Sale Locker page.
Why not pop in and see what we can do for you., we'd love to see you!
This is one of the most exciting wedding fairs of the year. The Pop up Wedding Village at Calke Abbey is a fabulously relaxed fair full of lovely wedding suppliers, like us!
There's plenty for everybody: food to go, bars for a cooling drink, entertainment, cakes, among lots of other things, and dresses...of course.
